Argosy is self-described as “An assortment of literary splendours and marvels, complete in two volumes and housed in a very handsome slip-case”. Though it is touted as an ongoing magazine, it really resembles a paperback book set of a novel that may have come out originally in the 19th century; and that is the intention. On that level alone they have succeeded in their presentation. The stories themselves are creative and at times surreal and definitely have the influence of Lewis Carroll or Dr. Seuss.
