Many facts of the life of Scrooge McDuck were written by Carl Barks during his stay with the first seventy issues of Uncle Scrooge comics. Disney then decided to publish a series of biographical stories from Scrooge’s life, with inspiration from a McDuck biographical pamphlet written by science fiction author Jack Chalker, based on tidbits of information pulled from those Bark’s stories. The company chose Don Rosa to carefully construct a twelve issue story arc that would cover the life of Donald Duck’s Uncle Scrooge, many of which had only been hinted at over the years.

Now these issues are collected together with tidbits concerning the making of this century long saga for readers to enjoy and cherish just as much as Scrooge McDuck cherishes each tiny coin he ever earned. Now we have a biography of the duck behind the legend!
