Many stories of World War II have been lost in the midst of time. Perhaps one such story is that of the Rifle Brigade, a bizarre collection of oddballs including a very proper British Captain Darcy, who brings his team behind Nazi lines and just may have found a way to get them out and a wizened Scottish bloke whose bagpipes are not to be messed with. There’s also the oafish Sargent Crumb, who smiles in the face of Death (and everything else). Together with the rest of their team, they are the Allies’ best hope to steal a secret German formula that could win the War for the Nazis—which makes their capture by sadistic German killers a troubling occurrence.

Action, adventure, and terribly inappropriate and unpleasant humor, this Vertigo mini-series is written by Garth Ennis and drawn by Carlos Ezquera.
