Century: Distant Sons

    (Marvel, 1996)
™ and ©1995 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, and Tom Tenny created Century for Marvel Comics in 1994. The sometime-Force Works member is an artificial being whose mind holds the skills and memories of a hundred of his world’s greatest warriors. Another Marvel character, Death’s Head II, has a similar mental setup and became borderline insane as a result. However, Century is lucky enough to possess a battlestaff called Parallax which, among its many abilities, has an empathic link which helps Century navigate his many minds.

Century’s people were once slaughtered by a race of aliens led by the woman Lore. Century was created to avenge his people and was given a one-hundred-year life-span. Since then, however, his mind has been wiped blank and he became a slave of the alien known as the Broker. In Distant Sons, Century battles for his freedom, as well as the keys to unlock his past.
