Judge Dredd: Hall of Justice
(Fleetway Quality, 1990)
™ and © Fleetway Editions, Ltd.
Judge Dredd, the popular hero of Great Britain’s 2000 A.D. magazine, is judge, jury, and executioner in a dystopian future where rampant crime is the order of the day. To combat the forces of evil, Judge Dredd—one of many “judges”—has been given wide-ranging and far-reaching powers to dispense justice in the streets of the sprawling Mega-City One, in order to hit crime where it lives.
To paraphrase a certain claw-brandishing mutant’s shtick, Dredd is the best there is at what he does; he is the living embodiment of the highest principles of the Justice Department, and this graphic album collects tales that explore what makes Dredd and the other judges tick. This special includes excellent stuff from writers John Wagner, Alan Grant, and Pat Mills and artists Mike McMahon, Ian Gibson, Cliff Robinson, and Ron Smith. This collection sports a gorgeous painted cover by Steve Fastner and Rich Larson.
