Oblivion

    (COMICO, 1995-1996)
™ and ©1995 Comico Comics, a division of Arpad Publishing

In the text piece inside the front cover of Oblivion #1, this title, launched as part of a revival of Comico Comics, is described as “a stunning amalgamation of superheroics, science fiction, espionage, and cold war intrigue under one comic book banner.” It’s actually something of a mess, hidden behind a gorgeous Art Adams (Longshot, Monkeyman & O’Brien) cover. Even as the controversial new regime of Lord Saker takes over the hellish world of Oblivion and establishes his all-female army of warriors, his enemies in the Nine Dominions are making plans to bring him down. This prompts Saker’s allies in the First Church of Carnage to send a team of super-powered agents to the site of the Dominion summit to send the message that Oblivion will never fall to the Dominion. Whew! Get all that? A lot of seeds are planted in the beginning of this series, but they never made it to fruition since the book was cancelled with its third issue.
