JLA: Secret Society of Super-Heroes

    (DC, 2000)
™ and ©2000 DC Comics

In Metropolis, a team of super-heroes fights crime, imprisons evildoers in the Phantom Zone, and works for the betterment of all mankind. But no one knows their names, because they do all their work in secret, aided by invisibility devices which hide their accomplishments from the world. There’s a dark side to this anonymity, as some of the heroes use and abuse it for personal gain, defending it by saying, “we’re the good guys.” Can FBI agent Bruce Wayne and crack reporter Lois Lane expose these heroes, who include individuals we know as Green Lantern, Superman, and Wonder Woman? Or will the group’s own inner strife tear it apart?

This Elseworlds prestige format mini-series is written by the man known for his somewhat darker look at super-heroes, Howard Chaykin, and drawn by Mike McKone.
