Lance Barnes: Post Nuke Dick
(Epic, 1993, 2004)
™ and ©1993 Stefan Petrucha and Barry Crain
Lance Barnes was no stranger to danger. His adventures were chronicled everywhere, and he was a hero to millions…until the day he fell into the villain’s trap and wound up accidentally blowing up the world.
Haunted by that rather terrible secret, he prowls post-nuclear society like a latter-day Sam Spade. In this irradiated version of film noir, Barnes runs from mutated attack dogs, is hunted by a femme fatale with one leg (named “Peg,” naturally), and is given to narrating his life in a series of thought balloons that read like a bad Hemingway contest. Wonderful stuff.
