You’ll find a good dab of Dirty Harry and a hint of X-Files here in this compelling short-run crime drama. The black-and-white artwork expertly sets the mood scene by scene as special agents of the Kingston, Iowa police force track down a powerful crime czar who is running munitions through the city. Zeroing in on an arms shipment, unit leader Sergeant Thomas Davis leads his men into a raid, but things go wrong when a body-armored dan (hired mercenary) shows up and kills two officers.

In response to the new threat, Davis’s unit gets the aid of their own dan—an ex-merc by the name of Wyatt Wolverstone. But Davis knows that this could be trouble—that things will only get hot before they get better.
