Angel (5th Series)

Superb, fine-line art from Bishakh K. Som frames personal human tales that appear to be set in a day-after-tomorrow type of future. Spaceships and cyborgs won’t steal any thunder from the flying lines of conflict and misunderstandings when a hungover gay friend proposes marriage to a young woman amid party litter with her mother as witness. It’s the personal scope that will draw the same readership as Adrian Tomine; a concerned audience that empathizes with both the strange and the sensitive. Particularly moving is a letter to a lover written against the violence of an automobile careening down an embankment.
