In the early 50s, most if not all comic book publishers took a stab (pun intended) at publishing books in the horror genre. Though no one could really touch the standards set by EC Publications, this book is designed to set the record straight and show that there were some other worthy contenders to the throne of horror classics. Harvey Comics originally published most of the stories here, easily the strongest non-EC horror material publisher at the time, before they graduated to lighter horror fare such as Casper the Friendly Ghost.
