Dr. Anthony King, Hollywood Love Doctor
(Minoan, 1953-1954)
™ and ©1954 Minoan Publishing Corp.
“…But this was no ordinary woman who could be repulsed with curt words of indifference. This was a REDHEAD!”
They just don’t write ’em like this anymore. Dr. Anthony King, Hollywood Love Doctor was the tale of an intrepid psychologist who specialized in solving Tinseltown lovers’ dilemmas. It featured the expected problems such as old has-been actors falling in love with rising young stars. But at the same time, Dr. King also helped salesgirls suffering from amnesia, and helped socialites cope with nightmares loaded with Freudian symbolism. It’s easy to compare this 1953–1954 series to EC’s Psychoanalysis, but the psychology involved here is strictly superficial, and served mostly as a catalyst for the romantic entanglements being discussed.
