Set in a distant, dystopian future where humans, robots and cyborgs live in uneasy détente, this series about a mute samurai-warrior named Nico features various organic-mecha grotesqueries, savage mercenaries and nebulous corporate conspiracies. The threat of civil war looms large as a silent man with a big sword stands between chaos and more chaos. Writer/illustrator Alex Sheikman’s vision descends from classic comics like Frank Miller’s Ronin and popular role-playing games like Final Fantasy.
Robotika debuted in a four-issue run from Archaia Press Studios with the trade paperback coming shortly afterwards. Evaluating Robotika, critics compared Sheikman to the likes of J.G. Ballard, Guy Davis, and Mike Mignola.
