Since first witnessing the death of a trapped rat as a young boy, Ethan longed for a way to keep other animals from facing such an unpleasant end. But saving the city’s pets is a thankless job. It means working for low pay, losing the respect of your family and giving up your bathroom when you foster a litter of kittens. Still, making a difference and the support of his girlfriend make it all worthwhile for Ethan. Even when hungry animals and the stench of 20 cats worth of litter boxes threaten to do him in.
