Before there was Team 7, there was Team Zero. Think of it as kind of a hard-edged, deadly serious Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos. Commander Michael Cray, cover-name Collins in this 6-part mini-series and code-named Deathblow, is an undercover agent for the O.S.S., assigned to the most deadly missions of World War II. Collins’ mission in this series, set in the closing months of the war, is to capture Nazi rocket scientists and secure any information from a secret laboratory before the arrival of our Russian allies who are also interested in the technology. Collins has led suicide missions before and this sounds like another. He picks the team himself knowing their blood will be on his hands. Veteran writer Chuck Dixon and artist Doug Mahnke, (Justice League Elite) bring gritty realism to the background of the men who will later become Grifter, Backlash and Deathblow.
