The largest shojo manga magazine currently published in the United States, Shojo Beat focuses upon shojo (meaning “girl” in Japanese) manga titles. Although the shojo genre typically reflects upon internal struggles with love, identity and responsibility, Shojo Beat maintains that the titles are not strictly for girls, as the stories are about universal themes shared not only by both genders, but by younger and older audiences alike. This publication endeavors to present style and trends, culture, and exclusive interviews with the industry’s leading manga creators, writers and illustrators.
