Midge used to be a dictator, but now he’s a loveable, trenchcoat-wearing member of the citizenry aboard the good ship Dirtbag. In fact, there are about a gazillion characters in this book—from Baptist, who violently tries to embrace the concept of democracy, to Steve, who tries to teach Baptist about the concept of democracy. And, of course, there’s Midge. Remember him from the first sentence? Dirtbag also features The X-Flies, a pair of insects who are parodies of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from The X-Files.
