Little Audrey and Melvin

Little Audrey and Melvin are two mischievous tots in the time-honored of Little Lulu and Li’l Dot of which Harvey Comics was the master. About 6 years old, pig-tailed Audrey is the brains of the operation, frequently foiling her freckle-faced pal Melvin with harmless kid-mischief pranks. The stories cover themes popular with young readers like dealing with parents who just don’t get it, ways to get out of doing chores, the tedium of shopping for clothes, and the misunderstandings that crop up when kids play “grown up.” Various other tiny tykes make up the supporting cast. Audrey and Melvin stories run about four pages, with frequent gags leading up to a cute punchline or finish.
