Punisher: Bloody Valentine

If you think that Valentines Day, the holiday intended to celebrate romance and the Punisher, the cold, obsessed scourge of organized crime go together like oil and water, you’d be right. But this one-shot title exists purely because of its sheer incongruity.   The plot itself has nothing to do with Valentines Day; it was simply released in February and features The Punisher embracing a woman inside a bullet-riddled heart on the cover. That’s not to imply that Frank Castle doesn’t find time for a little extra-curricular relaxation with a woman, even if it is Suspiria, a mercenary whom he dropped off the roof of a building the last time they crossed paths in Punisher: Red X-Mas, released at Christmas time 2004. This time Castle has staked out a weapons dealer who is also in the crosshairs of Suspiria. She has been hired to recover a kidnapped Senator’s son and Castle’s arms dealer has information about the kidnapping. Working together for their mutual goals, The Punisher and the mercenary find a way to work… and relax together.
