Giant-Size Ms. Marvel

Carol Danvers has come a long way, baby. First portrayed in the pages of Captain Marvel as a typical comic book damsel-in-distress, she was kidnapped and accidentally injured by the Kree villain Yon-Rogg. Given super-powers by that same accident, she was eventually popular enough to merit her own series, which lasted several years.

Eventually relaunched into a second ongoing series, Giant-Size Ms. Marvel helps to bridge the two titles and refresh fans on where she came from. The first story, set in the present day, establishes the heroine’s present look and attitude. The rest of the book reprints a few of her classic adventures; her origin in Captain Marvel #18, issues one and two of her first series, and Ms. Marvel #20, the first appearance of her modern costume. This one-shot leads directly into a new Ms. Marvel series.
