Laurel Darkhaven is a Special, part of a small group of humans capable of performing great, super-hero-like feats. Sent away to schools and camps to hone and control her talents, she never imagined she’d be of much use compared to the others. She could only sense and manipulate small things with her mind, like the movements of an ant or the arrangement of molecules in a solution. However, it’s amazing what the “small things” can do, from stalling a pursuer’s car to bringing new life to a desert wasteland. It’s no wonder the CIA has its eyes on her.
