Pilot Travis Morgan leaves his fiancé, Aleya, and best friend, Terry, to test fly a new experimental aircraft. Suddenly his plane dives into the Arctic wastes and he is thrust into a world of sword and sorcery in wild jungle civilization known as Skartaris. There kingdoms either make compromises or are conquered by neighboring armies. Princess Tara of Shambala prays to Cassus, warlord prince of the gods for a deliverer to save her kingdom from the barbarians of Prince Brovis of Kolosis. Shortly thereafter, Morgan is rescued from the ocean near her kingdom and plunged into fighting for his life with only a sword and his own skills.

DC once again brings one of it’s more popular heroes and concepts back into print under the steady hand of Bruce Jones and Bart Sears writing and artwork. Warlord first appeared in DC’s First Issue Special #8 back in November of 1975 and quickly graduated to his own long running series.
