Star Trek: New Frontier—Double Time

    (WildStorm, 2000)
™ and ©2000 Paramount Pictures Corporation

The planet Haresh has been chosen by a militant religious group called the Redeemers for purification. This is a serious matter because civilizations that decline their offer are deemed unworthy to live. The Starship USS Excalibur has been dispatched to mediate, but a last minute rescue mission delays its arrival, resulting in the death of everyone on that planet. Captain Mackenzie Calhoun, a man who, like James Kirk, does not like to lose does not accept those circumstances as immutable. Defying Star Fleet regulations, he takes the Excalibur back in time to aid Haresh and inhibit the repugnant goals of the Redeemers. Such meddling with the time stream brings into play a timeship, The USS Relativity, to protect the sanctity of history, regardless of who lives and dies.

This story is set in the New Frontier component of the Star Trek continuum. Since Peter David and John Ordover designed this universe for novels published by Pocket Books, writers are not constrained by edicts from Paramount or trumped by television continuity.
