New Orleans and Jazz

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, comic artists gather to pay tribute to the city of New Orleans. The collection starts as jazz is born, and New Orleans finds its muse. Then Louis Armstrong plays through the rain and finds his voice in the sound of a cornet. The one overtly political comic compares the improvisational style of jazz to the Bush administration's handling of Katrina. Musicians continue to play as the water rises, and hands reach out for help. Nods to the rhythm and history of jazz mix with poignant images of the flooding to create a charity project of style and substance.
