Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye

This eight-issue mini-series serves as an update to both the Transformers tech-specs (found on the back of each toy’s packaging in the 1980s) and Marvel’s Transformers Universe mini-series. What we have here is a detailed look at every single Transformers: Generation One character from A to Z. Each profile features biographical data, an analysis of that character’s weapons and abilities, a brief segment of weaknesses, and detailed pictures of all of the character’s forms.

Writing is handled by the architects of the Dreamwave Transformers universe, Adam Patyk and Brad Mick, while art is shared by practically every artist on the Dreamwave staff, most notably Don Figueroa and Joe Ng. Although Dreamwave Productions closed down shortly after the publication of this series, it’s still the single most useful source for biographical data on every Generation One Transformers character; it’s so useful, in fact, that the next company to get the Transformers license (IDW) seems to be accepting it as canon, choosing only to publish updates for other generations of Transformers than to re-do the whole thing.
