Cannibals: The Trivial War
(Raging Rhino, 1992)
™ and ©1992 Raging Rhino Productions
Series continued in Cannibals, The Feast #2
Vialascivia has a reputation as a center of magic. It is a sacred destination for runaways, dreamers, hippies or anyone looking for a miracle. Catharine and Sergio Vertigo have come here for more pragmatic reasons. They are thieves who plan to steal whatever loot Crazy Vera has in her Palace of Moonlight. Crazy Vera Felt claims to be a sorceress and preys on naive but rich disciples who come to her for enlightenment. The enlightenment comes in the form of a drug-induced stupor so Catharine and Sergio felt Vera would be an easy mark. If fact Catharine believed it would be so easy that she drugged Sergio to pull the heist herself.
This title is difficult to read for a variety of reasons but the most obvious is the truly amateurish art. Perspective, consistency of character’s features, the human form and even profiles are a mystery to the artist.
