An intergalactic cry for help sends the most of the X-Men into space, while those left behind—Wolverine, Iceman, and Kitty—are trounced by a mysterious intruder. What does all this have to do with the Fantastic Four? Kitty determines that their assailant is connected to someone in the Baxter Building, and that’s enough to put the two teams of heroes at odds. The real villain, though, is someone else entirely…

This two-issue mini-series (second issue continues in Ultimate Fantastic Four/X-Men) presents the first meeting in the Ultimate universe between the X-Men and Fantastic Four. Mike Carey and Pasqual Ferry collaborate on the encounter.
