The war had been going on for so long that nobody remembered exactly why they were fighting in the first place. As man battled man, each side was determined to do anything necessary to gain victory. One side thought it had turned the winning trick when they opened a mystical gate to another dimension, pulling the dread Myborg through to fight for its side. However, the other side soon pulled a race of beings called the Yorg through a similar gateway, and the scales were balanced. That was before these monsters realized that they held the real power, and turned on mankind, enslaving it.

Starfire grew up as a slave in a world ruled by the Myborg. Singled out for her beauty, she fled on her eighteenth birthday when she realized that she was to be married to their leader. She fell into the protection of a man who showed her what it was to be free. Then when he was killed, this former slave led mankind’s fight for freedom.
