Bank robbers and murderers took center stage in this pulp comic that featured short stories about crimes that actually happened. Interspersed among the tales of villainy are descriptions of real criminals, who were still wanted by the authorities at the time of printing. Besides the physical descriptions of the crooks, and the details of their offenses, the publishers of Wanted Comics offered rewards to any readers who could supply information leading to an arrest. Many of the stories were introduced and narrated by a devilish-looking character whose favorite admonition was “Crime cannot win!”
