Ashley Wood’s unique style of illustration combines traditional painting techniques with digital photography and graphic software. For over ten years, he has produced work for such companies as Dreamworks Studios, Warner Bros., Konami, Random House, and of course IDW. His comic book credits include, among others, Image’s Hellspawn, Wildstorm’s Automatic Kafka and Thundercats Sourcebook, and Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men.

This hardcover deluxe book features his work from 2000-2004. Although predominantly displaying graphic images of nudes, robots, sex, and various weaponry (often all at the same time), the book also contains Wood’s renditions of well-known characters such as Elektra, Batman, and Kabuki. The scenes are usually disturbing, sometimes titillating, often overtly violent and/or sexual, but always undeniably beautiful works of art.
