Sarcophaga was the world’s hot new male underwear model, Hollywood superstar and the object of public fascination. He also had the enviable ability to seduce any woman until his tragic, untimely death. His story sounds similar to many celebrities whose candle burns brightly but flares out suddenly. Except Sarcophaga had the head of a giant fly and his seduction skills were derived from pheromones that he radiated like an insect.Sarcophaga was the product of his father’s demented experiments to attempt to create a man who could propagate the human species without women and essentially breed women out of the human race. Needless to say, Sarcophaga’s father had issues with women. All of the above is exposition for an absurdist story that is intended to satirize marketing campaigns and entertainment trends as well as Big Tobacco, Big Business and essentially all of modern society. Artist Steve Perkins, whose style is reminiscent of Bill Sienkiewicz, breaks the fourth wall and employs over-the-top weirdness in this very personal project.
