Red Prophet: The Tales of Alvin Maker

A six-issue adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s book from the Tales of Alvin Maker series, Roland Brown and Renato Arlem put together a strong story of a history that could have been.

There are many paths that lead to a person’s beginning. The beginning of Alvin Maker was no different. One of the most influential people in his life was the Red Prophet, Tenskwa-Tawa, and how he helped Alvin understand what it meant to be a Maker.

Ta-Kumsaw was appalled by the behavior of the Shaw-nee, especially when they partook of the liquor of the white man, and most especially his constantly drunk younger brother, Lolla-Wossiky. But Lolla-Wossiky drank for a reason—to hold back the black noise that had been in his head ever since the violent death of their father. Now the brothers are reunited, one to raise an army to drive the white devils back into the sea, the other on a path that will eventually grant him wisdom and power.
