From the Publisher:

From moshe to moshe there arose non like moshe!

The Rambam, rabbi moshe Ben Maimon, was born in Cordova, Spain, early in the 12th century. Rambam fled the terrors of fanatic Muslim almohads, surviving with his family in the mountatins of Spain for seven years. Forced to flee again, he made his way to Fez, North Africa, then to Israel, finally settling in Egypt. One o fthe greatest of the Rishonim and codifier of halacha of all time, he was also physician to the court of Saladin! His work and fame echo down to us to this very day.

His love of Torah combined with his avid study of healing and natural medicine, the sciences, mathematics, astronomy — as well as the works of the classical philosophers, shaped the destiny of his life.

In an age of ignorance, he was a shining light of compassion, commitment and leadership towards his fellow Jews.
