Star Wars: Rebellion takes place approximately nine months after the Battle of Yavin, in which Luke Skywalker destroyed the Empire’s vaunted Death Star. The series’ central character thus far is Janek “Tank” Sunber, a lieutenant in the Galactic Imperial Navy who genuinely believes he is fighting to restore peace to the galaxy. A childhood friend of Skywalker, Sunber lends a human, almost sympathetic, face to the Empire. He’s brave, authoritative, and devoted to the cause and he still can’t believe that his old partner in womp-rat shooting joined the Rebellion.

In addition to the childhood friendship turned adult rivalry dynamic, Rebellion is chock-full of action and intrigue, with Sunber and company attacking a Rebel stronghold while Luke and other Rebels stage a bold hijacking of an Imperial cargo ship. Like the original movie trilogy (and like all good war films), Rebellion does a good job of telling the tales of individual characters while maintaining a firm grip on the bigger picture.

Cinematic, highly detailed visuals give the story an added sense of importance.
