Bambi
(Dell, 1956)

Walt Disney’s fifth fully animated feature was released in 1942. A comic book adaptation soon followed which has been reissued numerous times in many formats. As usual, the adaptation is very faithful to the feature and unlike many of the other adaptations, it is not as dependent upon the reader to have seen the film to appreciate the comic book. It concerns the life of Bambi, the male deer growing up with his forest friends, Thumper the rabbit and Flower the skunk. The character Thumper was so popular that he was spun-off to a series of new comic book adventures soon after.
