Madman’s first name is Frank. Last name: Einstein. At least, that’s the name they gave him when he was brought back from the dead. Before that he was your average John Doe: you know, terrible car crash, dug up from the grave, reanimated…all the usual stuff.

Now he’s a happy guy living in Snap City. He dresses up in the lightning bolt costume due to both a recovered memory of childhood hero Mr. Excitement and because it helps hide the scars. He leads a pretty normal life, hanging out with his girlfriend Joe (who thinks he’s really “gingy!”) and assisting Dr. Flem and his bandaged assistant Gail in the laboratory. Oh yeah, he occasionally takes on street beatniks with his toy disc gun (modified to actually hurt when you get hit) and battles the odd space alien or two. It’s OK, though, because when one knocks him unconscious and drags him into the heart of its ship, there’s a pretty fair chance that it just wants to ask him to be his friend.
