Death Comes to Dillinger

A lone rider slowly treads into an old western town. The hollow echo of his horse’s hooves resound through the dusty street like the mournful peal of a funeral bell and his saddle bag full of ticking pocket watches adds to the foreboding resonance. The citizens of the town of Dillinger have reason for alarm. This is no typical saddle tramp. He is Death personified and his presence has dire implications for someone.

Speculation about who may be a likely victim becomes a morbid pastime as each person reflects on why it should someone other than themselves or a loved one. An accountant with a young daughter suffering from a fever decides he must attempt to bargain with Death.

This title is a captivating mix of the Western and Horror genres, beautifully paced and dripping with atmosphere. The opening scene is reminiscent of Clint Eastwood’s High Plains Drifter, with the emphasis on echoing the sound of the horse’s gait.
