Image Comics offers Puttin’ the Back Bone Back, a sketchbook from Jim Mahfood (Stupid Comics, 40 Oz Comics). Mahfood explains his need to post a new cartoon drawing daily on his website at and that this book is a collection of these drawings. Mahfood prides himself in and encourages others to join him in drawing directly in ink, as opposed to penciling first when sketching as “it will force you to see your line in a different way.”
