Editor Jennifer Grunwald has canvassed the archives and pulled together thirty-six of the most stunning images that fans have seen for years from some of the best artists to work on the Uncanny X-Men and related projects. Some are new, some are old—from covers or splash-pages. All contain the very best depictions of Marvel’s merry band of mutants to be collected in some time. The art of Rodolfo Migliari, Billy Tan, John Cassaday, and others leap out at you. John Byrne’s “Dark Phoenix” cover, John Watson’s Giant-Size X-Men cover that heralded the new team, even Arthur Suydam’s “X-Zombies” work are all here in glorious color. Just be careful taking the staples out of the spine when you dissect the book.
