Babe
(Dark Horse, 1994)
™ and ©1994 John Byrne
Ralph Rowan was a tawdry theatrical agent making his way home in the deep of a stormy Los Angeles night. Suddenly, he found his car nearly colliding with a tall figure standing in the middle of the road. It was then that he met the mysterious, redheaded—and very naked—woman he dubbed “Babe.”
As it soon became apparent, Babe was unusual in more ways than her lack of clothing. For the most part, she seemed not to comprehend what was said to her, but at moments she would become erudite and well-spoken before once again lapsing into near muteness. Oh yes, and she could leap tall buildings and punch through walls.
Rowan initially foisted Babe off on the police until a competing talent agent tried to scoop her up as a new “find.” Ralph instinctively stole her back, but he was still left with a mystery…who exactly was she?
