Alicia’s your typical suburban teenager—full of anxiety, frustrations, resentment, and the fervent desire to change everything about her life. What’s not so typical is her ability to do just that—something she discovers when she wakes up pregnant without ever having had sex… except in her dreams, of course! But it’s not until she literally dreams her fantasy boyfriend to death that Alicia begins to understand the truth, and by then it’s already too late. Freaked out, starving, and desperate, Alicia accidentally dreams her old life right out of existence, remaking the entire world into a nightmarish police state run by pharmaceutical companies, with peanut butter-flavored oxycotton, chocolate-covered anti-depressants and super stimulants that can keep her awake for months at a time.

This isn’t the world she really wants, for herself or her baby, but does she dare try to dream of something better?
