Lai Wan

    (Moonstone, 2006)
™ and ©2006 Moonstone

This crime/horror melodrama features an exotic Asian beauty named Lai Wan who possesses uncanny psychic abilities. She can learn the history of any person or object simply by touching it. Sort of like X-Men’s Rogue, Lai Wan regards this talent as a burden as well as a gift. She keeps herself swaddled in veils and shawls to prevent any unwanted contact with the physical world to that could overwhelm her psychic boundaries. Lai Wan periodically assists the police in their investigations and otherwise sticks to the shadows of the city. Before this comic book from Moonstone illustrated by Shawn McGuan and Chad Hunt, CJ Henderson’s Lai Wan first appeared in Henderson’s novel The Things That Are Not There.
