ACG continues its line of black-and-white reprints of 1950s material with Not Approved, a title devoted to pre-Comics Code Authority comics. The stories here are somewhat lurid, potboiler-type fare, heavy on dramatic irony that involves the guilty getting their just desserts. Violence, drug references (one story boldly proclaims that “H-Is for Heroin!” and gruesome deaths litter the pages of this interesting look at what was considered scandalous in a different, simpler time. If only this title was in color…
