This black-and-white comic book is primarily text with some line-drawing illustrations by Bob Burden, Flaming Carrot’s creator. Burden states clearly that the format is experimental, meant to launch anthology-type stories featuring characters other than Flaming Carrot. Nevertheless, the experiment begins with a loopy, mock-spooky story of the Flaming Carrot — a move Burden says was calculated to boost his experiment’s chances of success. Given the title’s fate, the experiment appears to have failed, at least commercially.
