Marvel Westerns: Western Legends

™ and ©2006 Marvel Characters, Inc.

2006 will go down as the year of Marvel’s Western Summer Event. Looking to their heroes of the old West, Merry Marvel set out with a whole series of western themed comics, mostly collections of new twists on familiar characters, but even sprinkled with a few reprints of classic tales.

There’s the tale of “The Man Called Hurricane” who once ran up against one hundred bounty hunters all aiming to kill him, yet he walked away without a scratch. Red Wolf has been around for many moons and here we have a tale of how the torch was once passed. “The Man From Fort Rango” had a group of soldiers under him until they went up against not only hostile Indians, but a man-beast deadly to both sides. Finally, a reprint of the origin of the Rawhide Kid, as told by the unforgettable Jack Kirby.
