Sadhu
(Virgin, 2006-2007)
™ and ©2006 Virgin Comics LLC
The folks at Virgin Comics did not go the conventional route when entering the comic book market. Instead of going with familiar or conventional genres, Richard Branson, Deepak Chopra, and Shekhar Kapur have crafted a line that exposes American audiences to concepts that draw their inspiration from Eastern philosophies. In a text piece at the end of this book, writer Gotham Chopra explains how people in India believe that there are four stages of life and how sadhus are those in the final stage, seeking spiritual answers through silence. Chopra and his collaborator Jeevan Kang track the journey toward enlightenment undertaken by a British expatriate in India starting in 1858.
