Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways

This four-issue mini-series written by Zeb Wells and illustrated by Stafano Caselli represents the presence of the Young Avengers and the Runaways in Marvel’s 2006 Civil War crossover event. Generally oblivious to life outside Southern California, the Runaways maintain a position of “studied indifference” to the Superhuman Registration Act until S.H.I.E.L.D. enforcers take down Victor Mancha after an unrelated encounter with Flag Smasher at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market. The Young Avengers arrive to enlist the Runaways in the resistance and the two teams are quickly drawn into a battle with the renegade Kree Noh-Varr who turns out to be under the mental control of a S.H.I.E.L.D. team from an alternate dimension. These events take place after the events of Young Avengers #12 and Runaways (2nd Series) #12 and before Civil War #3.
