Part of Wildstorm’s “Eye of the Storm” group of titles, Black Sun is the story of Hong Kong cop Maggie Sun - a tough and sexy detective with a bad attitude and the chops to back it up. Written by Marc Andreyko (one half of the writing team behind the brilliant mini-series Torso, along with Brian Michael Bendis) with deft and dynamic art from Trevor Scott, the mini pits the incorrigible Sun against a band of living gargoyles, her police commander father and a mysterious, rich uncle. Frenetic pacing, spooky visuals and action straight out of a John Woo-style Hong Kong action flick combine for a fun read with a promising mystery angle.
