As super-heroes regained popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s, the beginning of the Silver Age of Comics, the folks at Archie dusted off some of their Golden Age heroes from the 1940s and offered up new ones, like the Fly, who first appeared in The Double Life of Private Strong #1 in 1959. The Fly is secretly lawyer Thomas Troy; when the need arises, he touches his magic ring and transforms into his super-powered alter ego. Adventures of the Fly offers up fairly standard super-hero fare, but the run is notable for the work of comics legends Joe Simon and Jack Kirby in the early issues.
