Once upon a time, four down-and-out folks in the Big Easy were given supernatural powers by an angel in the form of a man. After defeating Satan, they decided to retire from their job fighting beasts that go bump in the night.

Of Bitter Souls picks up a year later. The Pastor decides to reform the team, but not all are willing to return until a zombie horde reunites them. To be honest, Norm Breyfogle’s drawn far better than this, and the art feels phoned in. In addition, Chuck Satterlee’s script appears to just stop arbitrarily; though the team is surrounded by hungry zombies, there’s no feeling of a cliffhanger ending. One turns the page only to discover the story has concluded.
